NHS Service ChallengeHopewell Junior Honor Society members are coming up with creative ways to continue their spirit of service – despite restrictions imposed by the pandemic. Their advisor, science teacher Mark Bauer, challenged them to share their good deeds with each other in a Google Drive folder.

Take a look at some of the things students are doing to give back to the community.

  • Luke Macenski and his dad used a 3D printer to make face shields for his work – and anyone who else who needs them.

  • Emma Laude reached out to a family with a card, a drawing and flowers.

  • Max Page and Mira Seppi both volunteered to help put signs in the front yards of graduating Lakota East seniors.

  • Others took to the outdoors as well: Anthony Frankl did some landscaping work, Anna Muehleisen picked up trash in the neighborhood, Melanie Aldaz planted flowers for her family, and Olivia Taylor filled sidewalks and driveways with drawings and positive messages.

Thank you to students throughout the district who are performing acts of kindness like these on a daily basis.
