Connect with Lakota!

No matter your connection to Lakota Local Schools - as a parent, student, alum or local business owner - we are committed to involving you in our community. We want to make it easy for you to stay connected and get the information you're seeking, in a quick and consistent manner. That is why we've developed this one-stop resource to help you quickly access the many different ways to connect with us to stay informed about all things Lakota.

Subscribe to Lakota News & Notifications

Lakota's weekly district e-newsletter, "This Week at Lakota," is your best resource for ongoing developments in the Lakota community. Our schools also distribute their own e-newsletters every week to parents and community subscribers. We encourage you to take full advantage of our mass notification system for managing their preferences for receiving school and district news and announcements via email, phone and text message.

Become a Local Business Partner

Lakota Schools is committed to supporting its local business community. In addition to working with local businesses to fulfill our daily operations, your partnership is critical to our students' success. From Junior Achievement Job Shadowing days to official partnerships for our high school internship program, we need your support in developing our future workforce. As a service to our local business community, this includes an opportunity to become part of our growing list of potential business partners by signing up for Business E-Alerts. This will keep you informed about all new bid opportunities for your business's service type.

Join the Conversation on Social Media

Like Lakota on Facebook or follow us on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube! It's a great way to get daily updates, including news and upcoming events, plus an insider's perspective on some of the exciting things happenings in our schools and in our classrooms every day. Several schools and Lakota departments also manage their own social media accounts. Search for your school or department on social media, visit their webpage, or contact your school for more information.

Download Lakota's Mobile App

Lakota's mobile app is packed with resources for on-the-go-access to important school and district information, including: school directions, hours and contact information; events calendar and the option to sync with your personal calendar; news headlines; breakfast and lunch menus; and portals like Home Access Center and EZ Pay. Users have the ability to customize their calendar, news feed and push notifications, based on personal school selections.

Promote Your Youth Opportunity through E-Flyers

E-Flyers is Lakota’s convenient and eco-friendly way to distribute information about programs, classes, events and opportunities happening in our schools and around the community. Rather than sending flyers home with students, we post all approved materials on this section of our site, making it easier than ever for families to access at any time. If you represent a non-profit organization or are part of an official school support program, please consider submitting a flyer for our review.

Attend or Host a Community Conversation!

Resident, parent, business owner or all of the above, this program is all about you. For four years, the Lakota Board of Education and district leadership have been going out into the community to listen. These conversations are about deepening the relationship and building a stronger partnership with residents, finding common ground on our core values around education, defining the purpose of education, and confronting and solving difficult issues in education. All are welcome, so check out our calendar of upcoming meetings and join us!

Share Your Time, Voice & Expertise

Lakota has many forums through which parents and community members can get involved and contribute to their local schools. From the District Parent Council and the District Wellness Committee to the Finance Committee and President's Council (for PTA and PTO leaders), just to name a few, there is a place for everyone. Perhaps you're interested in volunteering in the classroom or as part of an after-school activity? Contact the Media & Community Relations Department to share your interest with us and we'll work to find you a match where there's a need.
