Soccer Bash/Games Planned for Steve Cummins Memorial
As you already know, the board approved the naming of the soccer stadium earlier this year to honor the work of former Lakota Teacher/Coach Steve Cummins. A committee of parents and friends have been working ever since to raise funds for a new entrance to the soccer stadium that appropriately honors Steve.

Here's what they have planned:

1. The Steve Cummins Soccer Bash will take place Friday, August 20th at the Mulhauser Barn from 7-11 p.m. Many former parents, players and friends will be in attendance. The price is $20 per person and that includes drinks and appetizers. There will also be various raffles and auctions taking place that evening including Reds tickets and a signed John Mellencamp guitar.

2. On Saturday, August 21st, there will be an alumni soccer game consisting of Lakota High School and Lakota West High School soccer players (girls and boys)at the high school. Games start at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.

3. On Monday, August 23rd, Lakota East and Lakota West Boys soccer teams play LaSalle and Moeller in the Skyline Chili Steve Cummins Kickoff series. There will be an official naming ceremony between the two games.

To get involved, please go to Westfirebirds.com for more information. Donations and Soccer Bash tickets can be purchased through the site using a credit card. In addition, we're also looking for additional items to be donated for the Friday event to be used in raffles and auctions. If interested please send an e-mail to Jason.cronk@lakotaonline.com

Thanks for your support and I hope to see you at the Soccer Bash in August.
