Secondary Summer School

Courses

Courses offered for physical education credit include:

• Fitness and Sports – for all students who need their FIRST Physical Education credit
• Team and Individual Sports – for all students who need their SECOND Physical Education credit

Format

These courses must be completed by July 3rd at 1 PM to be eligible for credit.

Physical Education Courses will be offered online this year, with the option of coming into summer school in order to complete the physical activity portions with other students. Physical education teachers will be available via Zoom or in person if students require assistance with their work. 

Information about all courses will be communicated prior to Monday, May 28th. Staff will also be available to assist students in person and via Zoom on Monday, May 28th. More information about this will be provided closer to the start of summer school. 

Timing

Classes run from May 28th  -  July, 3rd

Cost

The cost for each course will be $200.

Registration is from January 28th to March 15th through EZPay.

Courses

Courses offered for original credit:  Health, Government*, Economics, Financial Literacy, Sociology, and Psychology.

Format

These courses must be completed by July 3rd at 1 PM to be eligible for credit.

Courses may be completed online remotely from home. If students need assistance with coursework, they may attend office hours at Summer School or virtually.  Office hours will be communicated in May with further information about the course. 

Students will be required to attend daily, in-person office hours if they fall behind in completing coursework; falling behind is considered to be 5 or more assignments behind schedule.

*Government: Summer School Government students are expected to take their state test for Government over the summer.  This test should occur the last week of summer school (pending state calendar). Students will be given a testing date and time at the start of Summer School.

Cost

Credit recovery courses will be offered at no cost this year.

Registration

Registration is from May 6th to June 14th through this Google Form. 
 
Students will be given one course to complete at a time. 

Students will sign up for summer school, and the summer school counselor will select the classes they need based on graduation requirements.
 

Format

Testing will be held from Monday, June 24th to Thursday, June 27th. For each date, there will be an AM and a PM testing session. The first session will start at 8:00 AM. The second session will start at 11:00 AM. Students should plan on 2 hours for English tests and 90 minutes for all other course assessments. Students can take both parts of a test in one session.

Please note: All LEP students are eligible for extended time and dictionary use. All IEP accommodations for the test will be provided.

A reminder email with dates, times, and locations will be emailed to both parents and students at least one week prior to the assessments for verification.

Format

This course will be available in-person or virtually. A hybrid option is not available.

In person offering: Students will attend daily, 8:30 AM -  noon. Daily attendance is mandatory.
Online offering: Office hours will be based on enrollment and communicated in May.

Timing

Dates: Tuesday May 28th  - Wednesday July 3. 
This course covers two semesters worth of content in six weeks.

Costs

There is no cost to take this course.
