Regular Meeting Schedule
All regular meetings for the Lakota Board of Education are held at Lakota East Freshman School (7630 Bethany Road, Liberty Township, Ohio) in the Auditorium unless otherwise indicated. Meeting time is 6:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Other meetings may be called as needed and will be announced consistent with Ohio law.
Effective for the April 3, 2023 meeting, in lieu of the traditional 30-minute public comment section of meetings, the Board will hold a community listening session at 5:30 p.m. prior to each regular meeting. For more information about how to participate, please see the section below.
Effective for the Jan. 9, 2023 meeting, the Board returned to its pre-COVID practice of not live-streaming meetings. The Board will continue to make the recording of each meeting available in a timely manner via Lakota's YouTube channel (also archived below).
Additional meetings, also known as special meetings, and changes of time may be called, as needed, and will be announced consistent with Ohio law.
Executive Sessions
All school board meetings are open to the public. During regular meetings, the board may call a closed-door session, called an executive session. Ohio law allows executive sessions for discussion only, and only to discuss personnel, property purchases, pending legal action, employee negotiations, or security. The board may not take any votes or other action during executive sessions.
