K-6 Learning

The elementary school years form the foundation from which our students can discover their passions and grow into lifelong learners.

At Lakota, we take very seriously the responsibility to support our youngest students in their mastery of the core subject areas making up the Ohio Department of Education's Learning Standards. In addition to a continuous focus on personalized learning techniques, Lakota's differentiation models allow our teachers and support staff to respond to the individual learning levels of students.

Academic Development

Lakota's K-6 Courses of Study is built upon the Ohio Learning Standards for these core content areas: English Language Arts (reading and writing), math, science and social studies.

Whole Child Development

Lakota is committed to going beyond the academic standards to support the social, emotional and mental well-being of our students.

Points of Pride

Knowledge Building Curriculum

Lakota's K-6 English Language Arts curriculum is knowledge building, meaning the lessons immerse students in content-based literacy to emphasize comprehension skills beyond literacy.

Therapy Dogs

Lakota's pack of therapy dogs are wagging their tails around the district, providing therapy and emotional support to even our youngest learners.

WonderBus
