 Dr. Roberta Ashby

Lakota Class of 1990: Soccer, basketball & softball

 A 1990 Graduate, Dr. Ashby earned 10 varsity letters in soccer, basketball and softball. As a senior, she was captain of her squads in all three sports and was named Outstanding Female Athlete for 1989-90.

 

 

 

 






Robyn Brossart-Rothring

Lakota Class of 1988: Volleyball, swimming & track/field 

 A 1988 graduate, Mrs. Brossart-Rothring earned first team all-Greater Miami Conference (GMC) honors in volleyball, swimming and track/field. She was a state final qualifier in swimming and track, and earned eight cheerleading letters as the Thunderbird mascot for football and basketball. She earned 19 varsity letters and was named Outstanding Female Athlete for 1987-88.

 

 

 









Tom Coffing 

Lakota Class of 1977: Wrestling, tennis & soccer 

 A 1977 graduate, Mr. Coffing earned seven varsity letters in wrestling, tennis and soccer. He was Lakota's only three-time state top-five wrestler, placing fourth as a sophomore, third as a junior and second as a senior.

 

 

 

 






 

 


Ernie DeBord

Lakota Class of 1961: Cross Country, basketball, baseball and track 

  A 1961 graduate, he was Lakota's first athlete to qualify for a state championship, as a cross-country runner. He earned 14 varsity letters in cross country, basketball, baseball and track, winning the Butler County Cross-Country Championship as a junior and senior.

 

 

 

 

 






 Dr. Ken Farber

Lakota Class of 1982: Wrestling & cross country 

 

A 1982 graduate, he placed in the top five in the state twice for wrestling. He also earned eight varsity letters in cross country and wrestling, was captain of both teams and voted Most Valuable Wrestler three times and Most valuable Cross Country Runner once.

 

 

 

 




 


Keith Gregor

Lakota Class of 1992: Basketball  

  A 1992 graduate, he was a three-year letterman in basketball, was named player of the year in Cincinnati in 1992 and to the first team all-state. He was team captain his last two years, when the Thunderbirds made it to the state basketball finals in 1991 and won the state tournament in 1992.

 

 

 







 

 


Karl Grove

Lakota Class of 1991: Wrestling & cross country 

  A 1991 graduate, Mr. Grove was a state champion wrestler in 1990 and a runner-up in 1991. He lettered in wrestling three times and ran cross country.

 

 

 

 

 






 


Jim Hartman

Lakota's first athletic director from 1959-1983 

  Lakota's first athletic director, from 1959-1983, Mr. Hartman served as the school's first varsity baseball coach, leading the team to the Southern Ohio Conference title in 1965. He served as commissioner of the GMC from 1984-1995.

 



 




 

 


Theresa Hawkins-Horton

Lakota Class of 1980: Soccer, basketball, track/field & softball 

 


 

A 1980 graduate, Ms. Hawkins-Horton earned seven varsity letters in two years in soccer, basketball, track/field and softball. She led the track team to a third-place state finish in 1980, and was state shot put champion in 1979 and 1980.

 

 

 

 

 

 


 Rich "Small" Hendrix

Lakota Class of 1964: Basketball, football, baseball & track/field  

 

A 1964 graduate, he scored 51 points in a single basketball game. He earned 10 varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball and track. Mr. Hendrix was the first Butler County basketball layer to be named to the first team all-Cincinnati.

 

 

 




 

 


Bonnie Owens 

Lakota Class of 1989: Basketball, volleyball & softball

 A 1989 graduate, Ms. Owens was named to the first team all-GMC six times: three for basketball, two for volleyball and one for softball. Ms. Owens scored more than 20 points in a basketball game 19 times and more than 30 points seven times. She set 22 individual or career records in three sports.

 

 

 





 

 


Dr. Jeff Prather

Lakota Class of 1985: Basketball   

 A 1985 graduate, Dr. Prather started in and played a record 86 varsity basketball games. He holds the single-season field goal and free throw percentage records.

 

 

 








 


Karen Rudolph

Lakota Class of 1983: Soccer, basketball & track/field 

  A 1983 Graduate, Ms. Rudolph earned 10 letters in soccer, basketball and track. She qualified for state three times in track and holds Lakota's single-season scoring record in soccer with 27 goals.

 

 

 

 

 







 Bob Wasson

24-Year Member of the Lakota Board of Education 

 

A 24-year member of the Lakota Board of Education, Mr. Wasson supported and developed athletics for several decades, attending more than 1,000 sporting events.

 

 

 

 






 


Michelle Winterer Paule

Lakota Class of 1985: Cross Country & Track 

  A 1985 graduate, Ms. Paule earned eight varsity letters in cross country and track. She placed second in the 1984 state cross country championships and was a member of the state championship cross country squad.
