Following with tradition, the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty is partnering with Lakota Schools to recognize and honor excellent educators from the Lakota School District. The organization is currently seeking nominations from the Lakota community.
The Lakota “Educator of Excellence” award is made possible with generous support from the Community Foundation. Three awards will be given: one to a teacher or support staff from the elementary level (PreK-6) and another from the secondary level (7-12). The winners will receive an award, along with a $2,000 grant to be used for a special project at their school. A Lakota administrator will also be honored with a third non-monetary award to recognize his/her extraordinary commitment to students, staff and the community.
Outstanding educators can be nominated to receive this honor by students, colleagues, parents or any community member who wishes to acknowledge their exceptional effort in the classroom.
Nominations are not limited to classroom teachers. Award recipients may be any person (teacher, administrator, counselor, support staff, etc.) working with young people in the Lakota School District. The dollars awarded must be used to support a project that impacts the students at their location.
Nominations are due Friday, April 7 and require a minimum of two letters. Click here to download the 2017 Educator of Excellence nomination form.
