School Year 2020-2021: WE are Prepared

We are Prepared 2020-2021

How schools reopen in the fall will depend largely on requirements and guidance from Gov. DeWine, the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education and the Butler County Health Department. Lakota is also using feedback gathered from parents, staff and students, to build out plans for the upcoming school year.

As our mission statement and strategic plan says, WE are committed to a personalized learning experience for every student. Our goal for the 2020-2021 school year is to provide in-person instruction for our students as much as possible. The district is considering three options for the new school year: in-school, remote and a balanced option that brings students to school with restrictions.

WE know that some parents will want their children to continue learning at home. The Lakota Virtual Learning Option will be a fully online option for students in grades K-12, with priority given to students with high risk health concerns. More information will be available soon, including virtual sessions to answer any questions.

The health and safety of students and staff are a top priority as in-school options are laid out.

A Back to School FAQ has also been developed to help answer questions about plans for the 2020-2021 school year. The FAQ will be updated as guidance, requirements and plans evolve; please check back often for the latest information.

Superintendent Matthew Miller will present the district’s final plan to the school board members at the June 29 Lakota Board of Education meeting. Click here for more information on how to attend the meeting via Zoom.
