Cherokee Elementary Receives Purple Star Award
The Ohio Department of Education recently selected Cherokee Elementary as a 2022 Purple Star school for its outstanding commitment to serving military-connected students and families.
To be successful in school and when transitioning between school settings, Ohio’s military-connected youth require supports to ensure that their unique social, emotional and academic needs are met. Cherokee Elementary has demonstrated that it provides these supports to help military-connected students and families succeed.
The Purple Star designation is valid for three years. Cherokee joins Adena Elementary and Lakota East as Purple Star schools.
