The Lakota Local School District, in partnership with the Faith Alliance, is participating in the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children (ages 1-18 and individuals with disabilities through age 21) - free of charge regardless of income - beginning May 27 through August 5. The final pick-up day will be Aug. 2.
The summer program’s qualifications fall in line with the USDA’s free meals waiver for all students, recently extended through the 2021-2022 school year. This program is implemented at no cost to the district.
Summer meals will be distributed at nine different locations according to the following schedule:

While meals will not be distributed on a daily basis, each pick-up date will include a package that consists of one breakfast and one lunch per child for each day leading up to the next distribution.
Students participating in Lakota’s Summer School program will also have the option to bring their meals home every Monday and Thursday while the program is in session (June 1 through July 17 and July 19 through Aug. 5).
