Lakota Local Schools is proud to release the District’s 2024-2025 Quality Profile. The annual publication is a supplement to the state report card issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s (ODEW), giving context to the components that weigh into a district’s final score. It also goes beyond the report card metrics, providing a broader look at the full student experience and last year’s biggest successes - plus a sneak peek at what’s coming up this school year.
“We are very proud of our results on this year’s state report card,” said Lakota Superintendent Ashley Whitely. Lakota earned an overall 4.5 out of five star rating on the 2024-2025 state report card. “But the report is a single snapshot of our performance and based almost entirely on standardized test scores. Like the other measures of progress we use around Lakota, this data is very valuable for celebrating our progress and continuing to adjust our programs and supports for the best possible outcomes for our students.”
“There’s also a whole host of other programs and priorities that make up the student experience and aren’t necessarily reflected on the state report card,” Whitely continued. “That’s the full picture that the Quality Profile aims to share.”
Each year, Lakota’s Quality Profile includes additional accountability measures that reflect what our community values most in education. It goes beyond standardized testing and other statistical measures and covers areas such as academic program options, the arts, student activities and awards, safety and security, parent and community involvement and student services.
For the last 10 years, the Alliance for High Quality Education has coordinated the release of Quality Profiles for participating Ohio districts. The Alliance is a statewide education consortium that works to improve educational opportunities for students and represent member districts on matters of educational policy and funding.
Lakota’s Quality Profile is organized to align with the components of the state report card, making it easier for the community to understand both reports. In Lakota, it is also framed around the four pillars of Lakota’s strategic plan: WE are Personalized; WE are Future Ready; WE are Fiscally Responsible; and WE are In This Together. While it emphasizes last year’s accomplishments, it also provides a glimpse into the current and future work of the District. This work can be found under the “Coming Up” headers throughout the publication.
The printed publication will be mailed to every household and business in West Chester and Liberty townships later this month. The electronic edition of this year’s Quality Profile and all former years is available now on Lakota’s website. Extra printed copies will also be available at Lakota’s Central Office, all school offices, both MidPointe library locations and both townships’ administrative offices in late October.
