Understanding School Finances: Introducing “Treasurer Tuesdays” Video Series

School funding can be complicated, but Lakota’s new video series aims to simplify it.

In “Treasurer Tuesdays,” Interim Treasurer Randy Bertram explains school finances in easy-to-understand pieces. Bertram will cover where the money comes from, how spending is tracked, how Ohio's funding works and why Lakota is reviewing its long-term financial and building needs. 

The goal of the series is to help residents better understand school finances and the key decisions facing our district.

Commitment to Fiscal Transparency

“Treasurer Tuesdays” is just one way to stay informed about Lakota’s finances. The District is committed to clear, open financial reporting. 

Community members can review detailed monthly financial documents on the district website, including: 

• Monthly board reports;
• Revenue and spending updates;
• Yearly appropriations;
• Financial forecasts; and
• Financial publications.

Lakota is also a member of the Ohio Checkbook, an interactive tool that provides transactional data for government entities.
