It's Time for Lakota March Madness
It’s time for March Madness…LAKOTA STYLE!
March Madness is a charity and community-sponsored basketball tournament in which Lakota students (grades 2-6) can participate to represent their school and help raise money for local causes.
This year’s basketball tournament will take place on Monday, March 31 through Thursday, April 10. Be sure to come out and support our students in second through sixth grades. It’s a great way for students to come together to represent their school and play other Lakota schools.
More than 1,300 students - on nearly 150 different teams - participate in the tournament each year, raising over $20,000 for local non-profits.
"The tournament is about community-building and philanthropy. What students learn goes far beyond how to dribble and shoot a basketball. They learn how to support one another, as both a teammate and a cheerleader in the stands," said Mike Goldman, Lakota March Madness Co-Chairman.
