Don't Miss Light Up Lakota Showcase March 11

The “Light Up Lakota!” school showcase will return for a fourth year at Lakota East High School from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11. Lakota's biggest district-wide event of that year, “Light Up Lakota!” will shine the spotlight on the coursework, extracurricular activities, programs and services that Lakota students enjoy every single day. 

"If you go to just one Lakota event all year, make this the one," said Lakota Superintendent Ashley Whitely. "This is a spectacular tradition that gives our students an opportunity to share what learning looks like for them day in and day out. Not only is it a great way for our youngest learners to see what's next for them, but also for our parents and the community as a whole to peek inside our schools." 

The event is open to the entire community. Beyond the school showcase that includes a booth for each of Lakota’s 23 schools, spotlight performances and presentations will showcase select programs at every grade band that make up the Lakota experience. Attendees will be able to enjoy the open house format of the evening around the scheduled performances and presentations they wish to hear more about. As the event approaches, we will share a more specific agenda for the evening. 

Additionally, an art gallery will put on display student talent and visual arts projects from most schools. Also, be on the lookout for a special section dedicated to staying educated about Lakota's continuing Master Facilities Plan work.
