Military Commitment Ceremony Honors 26 Seniors April 28

Military Commitment Ceremony Honors 26 Seniors April 28

We invite our community to join us on Wednesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. as we celebrate the 26 seniors who have made a commitment to enter a branch of service after graduation. Due to COVID restrictions, the in-person ceremony will be exclusive to Lakota’s senior honorees and their families, but the district will live stream the program on West Chester Township’s YouTube channel for the larger community to enjoy. This year’s keynote speaker will be Chris Passarge, a U.S. Army veteran. Passarge has a deep connection with Lakota, not only serving as the district’s chief operations officer, but also as a parent. “It is an honor to have the opportunity to speak to these young men and women who will go on to serve our country after leaving our hallways,” said Passarge.

This will be the district’s fourth annual Military Commitment Ceremony. “Even last year, when the ceremony had to be completely virtual, we found a way to recognize our seniors who are putting service before self after graduation,” said Superintendent Matthew Miller. “We are excited to be able to return to an in-person format, even if just for our student honorees and their families.”

Visit West Chester Township’s YouTube channel on April 28 at 7 p.m. to recognize our student honorees as a community.
