Website Restructuring Update
Website Restructuring Update
At the March 4 school board work session, Superintendent Ashley Whitely shared that updates to the District’s website would be forthcoming to more accurately reflect staffing shifts that have occurred over the past 18 months. “We would like to go through and restructure some things so that it’s accurate information,” said Whitely.
During the 2023-2024 school year, the former interim superintendent paused on making any major changes to the website, opting to wait until a permanent superintendent was hired. This decision was made to ensure that any updates would align with the long-term vision and goals of the new leadership.
Staffing Shifts and Organizational Changes
One example of the necessary updates is the Lakota Office of Diversity and Inclusion (LODI). “If you look under our programming (on the website), it says LODI,” Whitely explained to the Board. Following the former department leader’s departure from the district and one employee returning to the classroom as a teacher, the remaining team member reported to another supervisor last year. “It doesn’t mean that we’re not doing outreach. It doesn’t mean that we’re not providing family support and wraparound services. It’s just how it’s structured (has changed),” Whitely told the Board.
“We still have our parent engagement. We still have our liaisons. We still have all of those pieces,” said Whitely. The changes will more accurately reflect the District’s current organizational structure so the website is as easy to use as possible for families and visitors.
