Hello Preschool Families,
The past week has been a little heavy within our Lakota and preschool community. As many of you have most likely heard on the news, a former Lakota preschool student, Joshua, passed away after going missing from his home. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a bright and joyful child who brought light and happiness to our program. During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and Lakota staff closest to him. We want them to know that our thoughts and prayers are with them. The entire Lakota preschool community stands together in support, offering our love and strength.
At this difficult time, it seems appropriate that we continue to celebrate the joys of the relationships nearest and dearest to us. As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude and togetherness. We appreciate the kind words and gestures of giving from our preschool parents over the last few days. Parents have provided not only kind words but acts of kindness including providing breakfasts for staff. These acts of kindness are much appreciated, especially during this time. Thank you.
Just a reminder about a few upcoming dates:
11/26-12/2: No school for staff or students, Thanksgiving Break
12/20-1/7: No school for staff or students, Winter Break
1/6: Professional Development Day for Staff; No students attend this day
The holiday season is generally an exciting time filled with joy and celebration. However, it can also be a period when children’s routines are disrupted. Maintaining consistency and a regular schedule can help children feel more secure and balanced during this festive time. Throughout the month of December, we will continue to provide engaging educational experiences and work diligently to keep the children’s routines as consistent as possible.
Thank you again to all within our preschool community. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!
