A Note From the Director

A Note From the Director

Hello Preschool Families,

It's that time of year again, when the weather cannot make up it's mind! We've had some beautiful warm days, some colder days, and some very rainy and dreary days over the past couple weeks. The staff has done a great job of capitalizing on getting outside on the nice days, but also creating activities to have some gross motor time on those rainy days as well. This time of year is also notorious for illness. Over the past few weeks, we have had many students and staff out or needing to leave school due to illness. I feel like it's a good time to remind everyone about Lakota's sick day guidelines. It is very important to the health of all our students and staff that these guidelines be followed. Please remember that students may not return to school until they have no fever for 24 hours, without medication. Also, if your child has symptoms that include vomiting and/or diarrhea, your child should remain at home until there is no vomiting, diarrhea, or fever for a full 24 hours, without the aid of medication. If your child has had any of these symptoms during the night, he/she should not be sent to school the following day. Again, it's very important that these, and all of our Lakota health guidelines, be followed to keep everyone in our program safe and healthy!

It was great seeing some of our preschool students and families at the Light Up Lakota event at Lakota East this week. It's always fun being able to showcase the great things happening in our program and in Lakota schools!

A few quick calendar reminders, Tuesday, March 19th is a teacher professional development day. This means it is a non-student day; no classroom or itinerant services will be provided this day. Lakota's spring break is scheduled for March 25th-29th, these are off days for students and staff. I hope everyone enjoys the break and gets some time to spend with family and friends doing the things that bring you joy!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Diane
