Principal's Message

Dear Ridge Families,

It has certainly been a rainy and gloomy week, but our students and staff continue to push through as we approach the end of the quarter. Thank you for your ongoing support in helping them stay focused and finish strong.

Registration Verification Sheets
This week, registration verification sheets were sent home with our 7th grade students. Please take a moment to review your child’s course selections, sign the sheet to confirm your agreement, and return it by Monday, March 9th. This is an important step in finalizing schedules for next school year.

End of the Quarter & No School Reminder
The third quarter ends on Friday, March 13th. There is no school for students that day as our staff will be participating in a professional development day. Please encourage your student to check their grades and complete any outstanding work as we wrap up the quarter.

Light Up Lakota – March 11th
We are excited to share that Ridge will be participating in Light Up Lakota on Wednesday, March 11th, at Lakota East High School from 6:00–7:30 PM. We are especially proud of our 8th‑grade students and our health teacher, Mr. Abshear, who will be showcasing their health projects. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting them!

Spring Picture Day – March 12th
Spring pictures will take place on Thursday, March 12th. Picture forms were sent home with students this week. Please note that a purchase is required for a student to have their picture taken, so be sure to send the form if your child would like to participate.

Alternate School of Choice (ASC) – Now Open
Families may now submit an online Alternate School of Choice (ASC) application for the 2026–2027 school year. The application window closes at 11:59 PM on April 1. This marks our first year using a fully electronic system; paper submissions will not be accepted. Requests are time‑stamped and reviewed in the order received.
Please keep in mind that ASC approval does not carry over from year to year—previous approval does not guarantee placement for next school year.
