Lakota Board of Education Public Comment Update
At the Oct. 10, 2022 Board of Education meeting, Vice President Isaac Adi made a motion to suspend public comment until policy 0169.1 can be reviewed by the policy committee. The motion passed with a vote of 4-1. Board member Darbi Boddy voted against the motion.
Mr. Adi’s motion reads as follows:
“Pursuant to Board Policy 0131, I move to suspend Board Policy 0169.1 regarding public participation on the basis of the following compelling reasons: Due to recent litigation related to public comment at board meetings, we need to review our existing policy to ensure it is compliant with the law.”
