Lakota Board Selects OSBA as Partner for Superintendent Search

The search for Lakota’s next superintendent will be conducted in partnership with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA), the Lakota Board of Education announced following its executive session and at the conclusion of its regular meeting on May 1, 2023. 

“We look forward to leaning on the expertise of OSBA to help us attract some outstanding candidates to fill the role as Lakota’s next leader,” Board President Lynda O’Connor said. “OSBA has the deep knowledge and resources to conduct a thorough search at both the state and national levels. The Board has confidence that they will support our shared goal to move through this process in a transparent, professional and efficient manner.”

“Community engagement, including multiple opportunities to provide input at different milestones along the way, will play a significant role in this process,” she continued.

The decision to hire OSBA followed the Board’s recent announcement of the first community survey designed to help prioritize the leadership qualities required of Lakota’s next superintendent. The survey, which closed on April 28, received more than 2,000 responses from parents and guardians of current students, employees, residents without children in Lakota, students, local business owners and grandparents of current students. OSBA takes pride in its custom approach to drive national searches that meet the unique needs of each Board and the community it serves. OSBA has completed nearly 1,000 district superintendent and treasurer searches over the past five decades.

A preliminary plan developed in collaboration with OSBA’s search consultants will include more specific details and timing for the application process, candidate requirements, interview process and opportunities for community engagement. More information will be provided as it is available.
