Strategic Plan Community Conversation Planned
“Everything WE do is designed to provide a future-ready, student-centered learning experience for every single child.” This is the mission statement of Lakota Local Schools.
How the district will achieve this is built into the four pillars of the vision:
- WE are Personalized;
- WE are Future Ready;
- WE are Fiscally Responsible; and
- WE are In This Together.
Lakota’s strategic plan was approved by the Board of Education in 2018, with implementation in 2019. While updating the plan was scheduled for 2022, district leaders pushed pause on this work as a result of the pandemic. Now, it is time to move forward with the work.
We hope you’ll join us on Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at Lakota East High School for a community conversation about this very important topic. The meeting will take place in the Community Room on the second floor.
Since 2012, Lakota’s Community Conversation program has given school board members and administrators an opportunity to gather feedback from parents, staff, students and community members on a variety of topics. Each conversation in the school board listening program is led by a professional facilitator. Using both small and large-group discussions, participants share their thoughts, ideas and concerns while school board members and district leaders listen and gather feedback to help shape Lakota for the future.
