Lakota Launches Strategic Planning Process, Community Feedback Survey Now Open

Lakota Launches Strategic Planning Process, Community Feedback Survey Now Open

Lakota Local Schools is beginning the work to build its next strategic plan and is inviting input from staff, families, students and community members. A strategic plan is Lakota’s roadmap to the future, defining our mission and vision as to how to best support students and prepare them for the future. Strategic Plans are also typically updated every three-to-five years.

The strategic plan will guide the district’s direction for the next three-to-five years and help keep the focus on what matters most for students.

Community feedback is an important part of this process. As the District looks ahead, leaders want to better understand what is working well and where there are opportunities to grow.

All staff, parents and guardians, students and community members are encouraged to complete a short, anonymous survey. Families are also encouraged to talk with their students and support them in sharing their perspectives.

This feedback will help shape the district’s priorities and guide decision-making for the years ahead.

How Feedback Will Be Used

The results will be compiled with prior feedback received, including:

  • 100+ superintendent listening sessions;
  • 20+ stakeholder master facilities feedback sessions, which included discussions about growth and improvement opportunities beyond facilities;
  • 2025 communications survey;
  • 2025 statistically-relevant community survey;
  • 2026 student course feedback survey; and the
  • 2026 workplace culture survey.

A steering committee will use all of this input to develop a new strategic plan focused on student success.

Take the Survey

The survey is open now and will close at 11 p.m. on July 3.
