Adapting to Enrollment Growth: Lakota’s New Open Enrollment Guidelines
Adapting to Enrollment Growth: Lakota’s New Open Enrollment Guidelines
Due to increasing enrollment throughout Lakota Local Schools, especially in grades kindergarten through sixth grade, changes have been made to Administrative Guideline 5113, Inter-District Open Enrollment. Lakota Local Schools will no longer offer open enrollment for any new non-employee students in these grades beginning with the 2024-25 school year.
Per Board Policy 5113 and its Administrative Guidelines, we will only be accepting applications from Lakota staff, and current open enrolled students in grades 7-12.
Current Lakota staff and current open enrolled students in grades 7-12 will be receiving an email with directions on how to apply for open enrollment. New staff requests must email enroll@lakotaonline.com to receive an application.
All completed applications must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, either in person at the Welcome Center or by securely emailing your application to enroll@lakotaonline.com.
Moving forward, while Lakota has allowed current non-employee students who move out of district to remain enrolled in years past, this will no longer be an option in all grades, K-12.
Please call the Welcome Center with any questions at 513-682-4120.
