Student Fees

About Student Fees

Annual student fees help cover the district's costs for providing "consumable" supplies that an individual student will use throughout the school year as part of their daily instruction. Lakota is committed to minimizing the financial impact of student fees on families, which explains the steady decrease in fees over the last few years.

The district's purchasing power, paired with its commitment to absorb more general supply costs into the general fund, help keep student fees low and school supply lists short.

Paying Student Fees
Parents or guardians have the option to pay student fees at the school office or via their EZ Pay account. Balances are typically available for early childhood and elementary students in mid-August and for junior high and high school students at the beginning of September.

Credit Flexibility, Dual Credit and Credit Recovery Fees

Credit Flexibility is a program that allows students to earn high school credits in the following ways:
Online courses
Master assessment
Individual plans for an independent study, internship, service learning opportunity, research-based projects or educational travel.
Students and/or their families are responsible for all costs incurred for credit flexibility options occurring outside the normal student schedule. Any credit flexibility option that adds to a student’s school day is the student’s financial responsibility.

Fees are assessed as needed and are based on costs associated with creation of necessary materials and "Teacher of Record" assignments.

Online Course
Tuition paid directly to provider and based on provider costs, including proctoring fees.

Students taking an online course for credit recovery will be assessed a fee of $200 per course.  This fee will cover the cost of the online license through APEX Learning and miscellaneous costs associated with the staff, equipment, and materials needed to proctor online coursework.

Mastery Assessment
$85 per assessment
Note: Students using the AP test for this option will pay the AP fees for the chosen assessments.

Individual Plan
$125 per course
