PTSO Senior Scholarship Deadline

Senior Scholarships

The PTSO is excited to announce that our annual Senior Scholarship applications are now available to seniors.  The PTSO will be awarding four $750 scholarships, one for each of the four categories.

These scholarships are open to any Lakota East senior with post-graduation plans to pursue additional education, training, or certifications that will strengthen their future career path. Scholarship categories are listed below.

Application Details

Requirements: Each application must include the application form and an essay that supports the scholarship criterion and answers the question provided under the scholarship description.                                                                                                                                                                

Seniors may apply for multiple scholarship categories, but each student may only win once. Additionally, each application would require its own essay. 

Deadline: End of the school day on March 7, 2025

Completed applications can be submitted online by filling out the online form and uploading your essay through this link: PTSO Senior Scholarship Application

Additionally, copies of this application can be picked up and submitted to Mrs. Lewis the guidance office.

Scholarship Categories

CHANGE THE WORLD SCHOLARSHIP:

  • CRITERION: The student has greatly benefited their community, family, place of worship, or other group through their acts of service during their four years of high school.
  • ESSAY QUESTION: How have your acts of service benefited others?
  • Examples: community service, acts of giving

 

BE BOLD SCHOLARSHIP:

  • CRITERION: The student has been bold in the face of adversity during high school.  Examples include overcoming a significant obstacle, taking a stand for the underdog, taking the road less traveled, dealing with a significant disruption, learning with an IEP or 504 plan, English language learners, and first generation in family to attend college.
  • ESSAY QUESTION: How have you been bold in the face of adversity during high school?
  • Examples: transferring in, facing adversity,

 

IMPACT OF ARTS SCHOLARSHIP:

  • CRITERION: The student has greatly benefited from their participation in the arts (visual, performing, musical, culinary, etc.) during their high school years, either through school, extracurricular activities, or outside of school.
  • ESSAY QUESTION: How have the arts impacted your high school experience, and how do you plan to continue participating in the arts after high school?

 

BALANCED LIFE SCHOLARSHIP:

  • CRITERION: The student has shown that they have learned time management skills by balancing school with other outside activities. Examples might include an after-school job, family obligations, extra-curricular activities, sports, etc.
  • ESSAY QUESTION: What did you learn about time management and how will you use those skills in the future?
