School Supply Lists

Lakota leverages its purchasing power to buy many required school supplies at a lower cost than families would pay in store. Some of these costs are passed on to families through annual student fees. Specifically, Lakota provides each student in grades K-6 with a supply kit that includes most of the items needed. The District also buy items like paper towels, disinfecting wipes and tissues for all grade levels.

Depending on the school and grade level, students will need to provide some additional supplies:

  • Preschool: Supplies are not required, but donations are accepted.

  • Grades K-6: With Lakota providing individual supply kits during the first few days of school, students in grades K-6 are only responsible for providing these three items: Headphones or earbuds, a backpack and a lunch box (if necessary).

  • Grades 7-8: Each junior school provides its own list of supplies that students are responsible for providing.

  • Grades 9-12: High school students will continue to receive supply lists from their individual teachers when school starts.

TeacherLists

As a convenience to families, Lakota partners with a free service called TeacherLists to make shopping for supplies easy and economical. This optional service allows for one-click shopping at major retailers, including Amazon, Wal-Mart, Target, Staples and more. All items are added to the cart, but any item not desired may be removed. Families who prefer in-store shopping can use the checkable list right from their phone or print the list to take with them.
